Chris McCandless  Magic bus 142. 

Chris Mccandless lived 113 days in this bus in Alaska and died unfortunately on (approximately) 18 august 1992. 

His daily menu was insufficient to maintain his weight, and in July he decided to return to the inhabited world. However, he found his way back blocked by the RiverTeklanika, which, due to a surge of meltwater, was much higher than when he had crossed the river in April, and had now turned into a wildly raging torrent. He saw no other way out and returned to the bus. (wiki)

This painting has a deeper meaning and places the event in a

surrealistic framework.

The 3 angels who guided him to our creator and heaven.

One angel is overseeing the river, which is too wide to cross.

Athough the church looks like a ruin, it symbolizes the divine in this scene and a portal to the other side.

The tarot cards and the looking glass are elements of prediction of luck or fate that befalls us and is locked in our future......

The harlequin is the grim reaper in disguise.

The candle is in memory of Chris.
